Taking the open road in support of the Shifting Gears Car Appreciation and Preservation Program!
The 2019 Shifting Gears rally was held Thursday, May 16th to Saturday, May 18th, with an optional ‘Enthusiast’s Day’ addition on Wednesday, May 15th. The event was open to vintage vehicles of any make, or sports and exotics of any year. The 2019 Shifting Gears Rally featured two days of driving and dining events with excursions through the beautiful Sierra Nevada.
In addition to the camaraderie of an automotive rally experience, the 2019 Shifting Gears Rally raised funds for its beneficiary partner, the Shifting Gears Car Appreciation and Preservation Program, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing guidance and philanthropic aid to young people for developing appreciation and enjoyment of the automobile, in conjunction with the Marin County Superintendent of Schools. All funds contributed on behalf of this event go directly to supporting these initiatives in and around Marin County.
In 2019 we were excited to introduce ‘Enthusiast’s Day’, an optional rally addition held on Wednesday, May 15th, where we winded our way from Marin County to Thursday morning’s ‘official’ rally launch at The Lake Natoma Inn in Folsom. Wednesday’s drive included a kickoff breakfast at Hilltop 1892 in Novato, lunch at Yard House in downtown Sacramento, and a tour of the Aerospace Museum of California. We capped off the evening with dinner and drinks, then settled in for a night at the Lake Natoma Inn in Folsom to rest up for our Thursday drive!
